I am very happy with it so far and my rose garden and other flowers are doing well. What I normally do to provide nutrients to the flowers is just add some miracle grow soil to them. Just dig around the roots of the plants and give them some nutrient rich soil and that will keep them beautiful. You should be okay with the rubber mulch and just think that you don't have to replace mulch year after year. Rubber mulch comes in black, chocolate brown which is the one I have, red, and green. These are the colors that the company that we bought from had. From what I was told by this company, manufacturers are coming up with lots of different colors so there may be more by now. It looks great and hardly any weeds in my garden!
