		<description>Hi Teri,

Thank you for your comments on heirloom vegetables. Yes, these heirloom vegetables, and especially the tomatoes, taste great and have more nutrition than store bought vegetables.

The main reason for this is that when you grow them at home, you get them when they are ripe and ready to eat. Store bought tomatoes are picked when they are green because of all the time it takes packaging and shipping them to the various stores. I believe this is why store bought tomatoes have no flavor at all.

I am fortunate that I have several local farmers that grow their own vegetables and sell them at a local fresh produce stand and these taste great.

You can buy heirloom seeds from Park Seed Company. They have been in business since the 1868 and are very reliable. Here is the link to their website. Just do a search for heirloom vegetables.

<description>Wow...I love these heirloom vegetables and plants and I bet they taste just terrific...not like today with GMO vegetables. I had a tomato the other day, that just tasted awful, more organic and basic foods like these will bring flavor and nutrition back into our lives. Thank you for the great article on heirloom plants! Is there a place to order from I wonder?
