Diana,

I came across a picture of this flower years ago & fell in love with it! I have recently became curious about cutting this flower & using it in an arrangement, as in a bridal bouquet. I know it's such a finicky little plant so my question is......will it hold up or will it wilt & die within hours?

Hi Barbara,
Thanks for the comment! The bat plant does have a strange but intriging looking flower. If you really want to grow it, try it in a container indoors. From what I read, the bat plant likes indirect sunlight, so you may fine planting the bulb indoors.

Good luck,
Diana

Hi Diana,

Very interesting article. I'd try growing it, but don't think it would do well in Pacific Northwest climate.

Hi Denise,

Thanks for the comment. I had heard about this weird bat plant but never tried growing it and maybe I should because I live in Florida and the bat plant is a tropical one. It really does look like a bat's face and it is quite unique.

I think I will buy a bulb this year and plant it just for fun!

Thanks again,
Diana
